To set up a new account you will be required to enter your school passcode.

TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of TumbleBooks – animated; talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they’ll love. TumbleBooks are created by adding animation, sound, music and narration to existing picture books in order to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you.

TumbleReadables is an online collection of read-along titles for elementary, middle school, and high school students which features adjustable online text and complete audio narration. Sentences are highlighted as they are being read and the pages turn automatically. The collection features chapter books, early readers, YA/Teen Novels, high interest/low level books for both middle school and high school students, plus classics of American and English literature.

NFB is the National Film Board of Canada’s online screening room. It consists of nearly 1500 films, clips, and trailers online, free for personal use and on a subscription basis for schools and institutions. The collection includes documentaries, animations, experimental films, and fiction. Several films are showcased that take a stand on issues of global importance that matter to Canadians-stories about the environment, human rights, international conflict, the arts and more.

Teachers with NBED accounts can request an Aliant account to access the videos free of charge. To request an Aliant account go to http://learning.aliant.net/lrndemo.asp choose K-12 Teachers and then choose the Tour & Register tab, scroll down and click on Teacher Register link. Once registered choose the Aliant Learning Icon to the left.
